Route 1
Continue on the N4 to Machadodorp. Go past the town and continue to the Machado Plaza (approx: R55.00). Once through the plaza you have a choice of 2 routes. You can either follow the N4 to Nelspruit (Mbombela) via Waterval-Boven, or you can keep left and take the N4 to Nelspruit via Schoemanskloof. Both routes are scenic and in a good condition, but the latter has less traffic. Both roads join up again after approx. 62km. From this junction continue on the N4 for another 3.7km, after which you will turn left onto the R539 to Sabie/ Sudwala Caves. Follow this road for 8km until you get the turn-off to Sabie (R539) where you will turn right. This winding road (with a few long straight sections) takes you to Rosehaugh (15km) where you will join up with the main road to Sabie (R37).]
You are now just 30km away. Turn Left. The road takes you on a 20km stretch through pine and gum plantations and then up the mountain high above Sabie. When you get to the T-Junction, turn right and continue down the mountain for the last 10km. Once in Sabie, turn right at the very first Stop Sign (at the CALTEX Petrol Station. This is Louis Trichardt str). At the next Stop Sign Turn Right (the Woodsman Centre will be infront of you) towards Hazyview/ Whiteriver. Continue 40m down the road. We are just after the Woodsman Pub, 40m down on the left, before the Gorge.
